Spent much of the last week or so recording video and audio out of my Max/Ableton setup to make short demo clips of some pieces that are completed or close to completed. Among them are This is an important message for Julie Wade and DOT1000 (see below). The Julie Wade piece is based on randomly accessing a composite recording of telephone messages, which in turn triggers the playback of video clips. The piece is partly humorous and partly creepy, but I had fun putting it together. DOT1000 is a more lyrical and composed track with extra layers of saxophone and some processing added in post-production. The video below is not really meant to stand on its own as a video piece, just to give an idea of what the projected video looks like in a live performance. I will hopefully get a chance to do a proper studio recording of audio and video in the new year.
